Delicious and sweet French macarons that combine sweetness with a hint of tartness. Perfect treat for celebrations or coffee breaks. Preparation Time: 1 hour
Serving Size: About 20 pieces
Ingredients:
- 125 g almond flour
- 125 g powdered sugar
- 2 large egg whites
- 30 g granulated sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
- Food coloring (optional)
- Filling (e.g., chocolate or fruit filling)
Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven to 150 °C (300 °F).
2. Mix almond flour and powdered sugar together. Sift the mixture until fine.
3. Whip the egg whites in a bowl. Gradually add granulated sugar while continuing to beat until the mixture becomes glossy and stiff.
4. Add vanilla extract and food coloring to the meringue. Gently fold to combine.
5. Fold the almond flour and powdered sugar mixture into the egg white mixture until smooth and flowing.
6. Pipe the batter onto parchment paper in round shapes. Let rest for about 30 minutes until a thin shell forms on the surface.
7. Bake in the oven for 12-15 minutes. Allow to cool before filling.
8. Fill the macarons with your desired filling and enjoy!
