A delicious and easy-to-make bread, perfect for breakfast or a snack. Preparation Time: 1 hour
Serving Size: 12 slices
Ingredients
- 1 egg - 100 g sugar
- 250 g all-purpose flour
- 100 g melted margarine
- 100 ml buttermilk or milk
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp vanilla sugar
- A pinch of salt
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F). 2. In a bowl, whisk the egg and sugar until frothy.
3. Add the melted margarine and buttermilk (or milk) to the mixture and mix well.
4. In another bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, vanilla sugar, and salt.
5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and stir until smooth.
6. Pour the batter into a greased loaf pan.
7. Bake in the oven for about 30-40 minutes or until the bread is golden brown and cooked through (test with a toothpick).
8. Allow to cool slightly before slicing.
