Description: These American sweet rolls are filled with cinnamon, brown sugar, and nuts, made even more delicious with almond paste. Perfect for your coffee table!
Preparation Time: 1.5 hours (including rising time)
Serving Size: 16-20 rolls

Ingredients

Dough:
- 300 ml milk or water
- 30 g yeast
- 175 g sugar
- 0.5 tbsp ground cardamom
- 100 g butter
- 800-850 g all-purpose flour
Filling:
- 100 g softened butter
- 150 g almond paste
- 100 g brown sugar
- 0.5 tsp vanilla sugar
- 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
- 70 g chopped nuts

Instructions

1. Melt the butter and let it cool.
2. Warm the milk or water until lukewarm and pour it into a mixing bowl.
3. Crumble the yeast into the liquid, then add sugar and cardamom. Stir until the yeast is dissolved.
4. Gradually mix in the flour while stirring. Towards the end, add the melted and cooled butter along with the remaining flour.
5. Knead the dough for about 5 minutes, leaving it soft.
6. Let the dough rise in a warm place for about 30-45 minutes, until doubled in size.
7. Prepare the filling by mixing softened butter, almond paste, sugars, and cinnamon into a smooth mixture.
8. Transfer the risen dough onto a floured surface and knead lightly. Roll the dough into a rectangle.
9. Spread the filling and nuts over the dough, then roll it up tightly.
10. Cut the roll into 16-20 slices and place them cut side up in a baking dish lined with parchment paper, leaving space between each.
11. Allow the rolls to rise for another 15-20 minutes.
12. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (400°F) for 25-30 minutes.
13. Once cool, you can optionally drizzle with a sugar glaze for extra sweetness.
