Sticky Buns
recipe

Delicious American rolls filled with flavors of cinnamon, brown sugar, nuts, and almond paste.
Preparation Time: 1 hour 15 minutes
Serving Size: 16-20 buns

Ingredients

Dough:
- 1 ¼ cups milk or water
- 1 packet (30 g) active dry yeast
- ¾ cup sugar
- ½ tablespoon ground cardamom
- 7 tablespoons butter
- 6-7 cups all-purpose flour
Filling:
- ½ cup soft butter
- 5.3 oz almond paste
- ½ cup brown sugar
- ½ teaspoon vanilla sugar
- 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
- ¼ cup nuts (chopped)

Instructions

1. Melt the butter and let it cool.
2. Heat the milk or water until warm and pour it into a mixing bowl.
3. Crumble the yeast into the bowl and add the sugar and cardamom. Mix until the yeast dissolves.
4. Gradually add the flour, stirring continuously. Finally, add the cooled melted butter and the remaining flour.
5. Knead the dough for about 5 minutes until soft, being careful not to overwork it.
6. Let the dough rise in a warm place for about 30-45 minutes until doubled in size.
7. In a separate bowl, mix the filling ingredients (soft butter, almond paste, sugars, and cinnamon) until smooth.
8. Pour the risen dough onto a floured surface and knead slightly. Roll the dough into a rectangle.
9. Spread the filling and chopped nuts over the dough, then roll it tightly into a log.
10. Cut the log into 16-20 slices and place them cut-side up in a parchment-lined baking dish (about 8x12 inches). Leave some space between the buns.
11. Allow the buns to rise for another 15-20 minutes.
12. Bake in a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) for 25-30 minutes.
13. Let them cool and optionally decorate with a sugar glaze.
