Delicious steamed dumplings filled with flavorful spiced beef, offering a perfect combination of taste and texture. Preparation Time: 2 hours (including rising time)
Serving Size: 10-12 dumplings
Ingredients:
- 500 g beef (e.g., brisket or chuck)
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tsp ground ginger
- 250 g flour
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp dry yeast
- 150 ml warm water
- 1 tbsp oil
- Salt to taste
Instructions:
1. Prepare the filling: Cut the beef into small cubes. In a bowl, combine the beef, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, sugar, rice vinegar, minced garlic, and ground ginger. Allow to marinate for about 30 minutes.
2. Cook the beef: Heat oil in a pan and add the marinated beef. Cook over medium heat until the beef is cooked through and tender. Allow to cool.
3. Make the dough: In a bowl, mix the flour, sugar, dry yeast, and salt. Add warm water and oil. Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until smooth. Cover the dough with a cloth and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour.
4. Shape the dumplings: Divide the dough into 10-12 portions. Roll each portion into a thin circle and place a tablespoon of the beef filling in the center. Pinch the edges of the dumpling tightly to seal.
5. Steam the dumplings: Place the dumplings on a steamer rack lined with parchment paper. Steam for about 15-20 minutes until the dough is cooked and fluffy.
