A light and fluffy Finnish sugar cake, perfect for any occasion. Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 30-35 minutes
Serving Size: 8-10 servings
Ingredients:
- 2 eggs
- 200 g sugar
- 75 g butter or margarine
- 100 ml water
- 400 g all-purpose flour
- 1½ tsp baking powder
Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F).
2. Grease and flour a cake pan.
3. Whisk the eggs and sugar together until fluffy.
4. Melt the butter and add it to the mixture.
5. Pour in the water and mix well.
6. In a separate bowl, combine the flour and baking powder, then add to the batter.
7. Mix all the ingredients together until well combined.
8. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake in the oven for about 30-35 minutes.
9. Check the doneness with a toothpick; the cake is ready when the toothpick comes out clean.
10. Allow the cake to cool before serving.
