A traditional British dessert made from cream and sugar, posset is a creamy, sweet treat often served chilled. Preparation Time: 15 minutes + cooling time
Serving Size: 4 servings
Ingredients:
- 600 ml heavy cream - 150 g sugar
- Juice of 1 lemon
- Zest of 1 lemon (grated)
- A pinch of salt
Instructions:
1. Heat the cream in a saucepan over medium heat. Add the sugar and stir until dissolved.2. Once the cream begins to boil, remove the saucepan from heat.
3. Stir in the lemon juice, lemon zest, and a pinch of salt until well combined.
4. Pour the mixture into serving dishes and let it cool at room temperature.
5. Cover the dishes with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
6. Serve chilled, garnished with fresh berries if desired.
