A delightful and festive herring spread, perfect for topping new potatoes or bread. Preparation time is about 30 minutes and serves 4.Ingredients:
- 2 boiled eggs (8 minutes cooking time)
- 2 lightly salted herring fillets
- 2 small new onions with green tops
- 1 dl fresh dill, chopped
- 200 g light crème fraîche
- A pinch of black pepper
Instructions:
1. Boil the eggs for 8 minutes, then cool them in cold water.
2. Rinse the herring fillets under cold water and chop them into small cubes.
3. Finely chop the onions and their greens.
4. Dice the cooled boiled eggs into small pieces.
5. In a bowl, mix all the ingredients until well combined.
6. Allow the mixture to chill in the refrigerator for about 15-30 minutes before serving.
7. Serve the sillikaviaari with new potatoes or spread on bread.
