Delicious and nutritious rolled herring with a creamy rice filling. Perfect for a quick meal that brings back childhood flavors. Preparation Time: 30 minutes
Serving Size: 4
Ingredients:
- 400 g herring fillets - 1 dl rice
- 1 onion
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 dl cream
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh dill for garnish
Instructions:
1. Cook the rice according to the package instructions and let it cool. 2. Finely chop the onion and sauté it in butter in a frying pan until soft.
3. In a bowl, mix the cooled rice, sautéed onion, cream, lemon juice, salt, and pepper.
4. Take the herring fillets and lay them flat. Place some of the rice mixture on each fillet and roll them up.
5. Place the herring rolls in a baking dish and pour a little cream over them.
6. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (392°F) for about 15-20 minutes, until the rolls are golden brown.
7. Garnish with fresh dill before serving.
