Delicious meat pies that make the perfect snack or party treat. The soft dough combined with a flavorful filling makes them irresistible!
Preparation Time: 1 hour (plus rising)
Serving Size: 12 pieces
Ingredients:
- 2 cups of milk
- 1.75 oz (50 g) of yeast
- 1 tsp of salt
- 0.85 cups (2 dl) of bread flour
- 4 cups (10 dl) of all-purpose flour
- 3.5 oz (100 g) of butter
- 14 oz (400 g) of ground beef
- 1 onion
- 1 egg (for glazing)
- Black pepper to taste
Instructions:
1. Warm the milk until it is lukewarm and dissolve the yeast in it.
2. Add salt and bread flour. Mix well.
3. Gradually add all-purpose flour until the dough starts to pull away from the sides of the bowl.
4. Incorporate the softened butter and knead the dough until elastic.
5. Cover the dough with a cloth and let it rise for about 30 minutes.
6. Prepare the filling: Sauté the chopped onion and ground beef in a skillet, seasoning with black pepper.
7. Once the dough has risen, roll it out into a sheet and cut out circles.
8. Place filling in the center of each circle and fold the edges to seal.
9. Brush the pies with beaten egg and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
10. Bake at 450°F (225°C) for about 15-20 minutes or until the pies are beautifully golden brown.
