A delicious and juicy steak served with a savory mushroom-onion sauce. This dish is a perfect weeknight meal that adds variety to your dinner table.

Ingredients:

- For the Steaks:
- 600 g lean ground beef
- ½ dl breadcrumbs
- 1 onion, finely chopped and sautéed
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- ½ tsp dried basil
- ½ tsp dried thyme
- ½ tsp dried oregano
- 1 egg
- 1.5 tsp fine sea salt
- Black pepper, to taste
- Butter and olive oil for frying
- For the Mushroom Sauce:
- 1 onion, sliced
- 100 g fresh white mushrooms, sliced
- 3 dl beef broth
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- Fine sea salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- Butter for frying

Instructions:

1. Sauté the chopped onion in butter and let it cool.
2. In a bowl, mix all the steak ingredients but be careful not to overmix. Divide the mixture into four parts and gently shape them into patties.
3. Heat a frying pan and add a mixture of butter and olive oil. Cook the patties until they are nicely browned on both sides. Set the patties aside.
4. For the sauce: melt butter in the pan, add sliced onion and mushrooms. Season with salt and pepper, and cook until the mushrooms are golden.
5. Add beef broth, tomato paste, and Worcestershire sauce to the pan. Let it simmer gently.
6. Mix cornstarch with two tablespoons of cold water and pour the mixture into the pan. Stir well and let the sauce thicken.
7. Return the patties to the pan with the sauce and allow them to heat through.
8. Serve with mashed potatoes or sweet potato puree, along with quickly boiled frozen peas.
