Ingredients:
- 300 g pasta (e.g., spaghetti or penne)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 400 g canned tomatoes
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
- 50 g Parmesan cheese, grated
- Fresh basil for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
1. Cook the pasta in salted water according to package instructions. Drain and reserve a little cooking water.
2. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until golden.
3. Add the canned tomatoes, salt, black pepper, and dried basil. Let the sauce simmer on low heat for about 10 minutes.
4. Toss the cooked pasta into the sauce and add a little reserved cooking water if needed to coat the pasta well.
5. Serve the pasta topped with grated Parmesan cheese and fresh basil if desired.
