Serving Size: 12 buns
Ingredients:
- 5 dl milk
- 50 g fresh yeast
- 1 dl sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp cardamom
- 1 dl melted butter
- Approximately 12 dl all-purpose flour
- 1 egg (for glazing)
- Pearl sugar (for topping)
Instructions:
1. Heat the milk until lukewarm and dissolve the fresh yeast into it.
2. Add sugar, salt, and cardamom. Mix well.
3. Stir in the melted butter until combined.
4. Gradually add all-purpose flour until the dough is soft and elastic.
5. Knead the dough for about 10 minutes and let it rise under a cloth in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it doubles in size.
6. Knead the dough again and divide it into 12 pieces. Shape the buns as desired.
7. Place the buns on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
8. Brush the buns with the beaten egg and sprinkle with pearl sugar.
9. Bake the buns at 200 °C (392 °F) for about 15-20 minutes, until they are beautifully golden brown.
10. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
