A delicious summer dish that is easily prepared over a campfire. This treat takes time, but the result is worth the effort.
Preparation Time: 6–8 hours
Serving Size: 4-6 people
Ingredients:
- 1 kg pork (e.g. shoulder or neck)
- 2-3 onions
- 2-3 carrots
- 3-4 potatoes
- 4-5 garlic cloves
- Salt
- Pepper
- Herbs (e.g. rosemary or thyme)
- 1-2 dl water
Instructions:
1. Prepare the campfire and let the coals heat up.
2. Cut the pork into large chunks and season with salt, pepper, and herbs.
3. Chop the onions, carrots, and potatoes into large pieces.
4. Take a large foil or roasting bag, add the meat, vegetables, and garlic cloves. Pour water over the mixture.
5. Seal the bag tightly and place it near the hot coals or edge of the fire.
6. Allow to cook for 6-8 hours until the meat is tender and the vegetables are cooked.
7. Serve the rosvopaisti directly from the bag or transfer it to a serving dish.
