A simple and delicious tomato sauce perfect for pasta, pizza, or salads. Preparation Time: 30 minutes
Serving Size: 4 servings
Ingredients:
- 1 can crushed tomatoes
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- Fresh basil for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
1. Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat.
2. Add the finely chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté until they are soft.
3. Stir in the crushed tomatoes, sugar, salt, black pepper, basil, and oregano. Mix well.
4. Let the sauce simmer on low heat for about 10-15 minutes.
5. Remove the sauce from heat and allow it to cool. Place it in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight.
6. Serve the fresh tomato sauce with pasta, pizza, or salad. Garnish with fresh basil before serving.
