A delicious cheese pie combining bacon, onion, and a creamy filling in a crispy crust. Perfect for parties or weekend indulgence. Preparation Time: 1 hour
Serving Size: 6-8 servings
Ingredients
Crust:- 150 g butter
- 4 dl all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 egg
- 1/4 dl cold water
Filling:
- 180 g bacon, chopped
- 1 onion, diced
- 200 g grated cheese (e.g., Gruyère)
- 3 eggs
- 2 dl heavy cream
- 2 dl sour cream
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp black pepper, freshly ground
- 1/2 dl chopped parsley
Instructions
1. Sift flour and salt into a bowl. Make a well in the center and add the water and egg. Mix quickly.2. Add butter in small pieces and gently rub into the flour mixture (do not knead). Press the dough into a greased pie dish and refrigerate for about 10 minutes.
3. Cook the bacon and diced onion in a skillet until golden brown.
4. In a bowl, mix sour cream, cream, eggs, spices, and parsley.
5. Remove the pie crust from the refrigerator and bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for about 5 minutes.
6. Place the cooked bacon and onion mixture in the pie crust and pour the cream mixture over it. Sprinkle grated cheese on top.
7. Bake in the oven on the lower rack (middle rack for convection oven) at 180°C (350°F) for about 30 minutes, until the quiche is golden brown and set.
