recipe

Delicious homemade French fries that pair perfectly with burgers or grilled dishes. This recipe takes a bit of time, but the result is worth it.
Preparation Time: Over 60 min
Serving Size: 4-6 servings

Ingredients:

- 1 kg potatoes (e.g., starchy potatoes)
- 2 liters water
- 2 tablespoons salt
- 100-200 ml oil (e.g., canola or olive oil)
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon paprika (optional)
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder (optional)

Instructions:

1. Peel the potatoes and cut them into evenly sized sticks.
2. Place the potato sticks in a large bowl of cold water and let them soak for about 30 minutes. This helps remove starch and makes the fries crispier.
3. Drain the potatoes and rinse them with cold water.
4. Boil the potato sticks in salted water for about 5-7 minutes until they are slightly softened but not fully cooked. Drain well.
5. Heat the oil in a large frying pan over medium heat.
6. Add the potato sticks to the oil and fry them until golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes per side.
7. Remove the fried potatoes and place them on paper towels to drain. Season with salt, black pepper, paprika, and garlic powder to taste.
8. Serve immediately and enjoy!
