Delicious and soft buns that are perfect for a coffee table.
Preparation Time: 1 hour 30 minutes
Serving Size: About 20 buns
Ingredients:
- 5 dl milk or water
- 50 g yeast
- 2 eggs
- 2 dl sugar
- 2 tsp salt
- 3 tsp cardamom
- About 1 kg wheat flour
- For brushing: 1 egg
Instructions:
1. Heat the milk or water until it is lukewarm.
2. Crumble the yeast into the warm liquid and stir until it dissolves.
3. Add the eggs, sugar, salt, and cardamom. Mix well.
4. Gradually add the wheat flour to the mixture until the dough is elastic and pulls away from the sides of the bowl.
5. Knead the dough for about 10 minutes. Allow it to rise under a cloth for about 30 minutes.
6. Divide the dough into portions and shape them into buns of your desired size.
7. Place the buns on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and let them rise for an additional 20-30 minutes.
8. Brush the buns with egg before baking.
9. Bake at 225°C (437°F) for about 10-15 minutes, or until the buns are beautifully golden brown.
10. Allow to cool on a wire rack.
