Creamy scalloped potatoes are a classic side dish, rich in flavor and creamy texture. This recipe is a perfect addition to festive dinners or a cozy weeknight meal.

Serving Size: 4-6 servings
Ingredients:
- 800 g potatoes
- 2 dl cream
- 1 dl milk
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
- 100 g cheese (such as Emmental or mozzarella)
- Fresh herbs (such as thyme or parsley) for garnish
Instructions:
1. Peel and slice the potatoes into thin rounds.
2. Peel and crush the garlic cloves.
3. In a bowl, mix the cream, milk, crushed garlic, salt, black pepper, and nutmeg.
4. Lightly grease a baking dish with butter.
5. Layer the potato slices in the dish and pour the cream mixture over them.
6. Grate the cheese and sprinkle it on top of the potatoes.
7. Bake at 200 °C (390 °F) for about 45-50 minutes, until the potatoes are tender and the top is golden brown.
8. Let it rest for a few minutes before serving and garnish with fresh herbs.
