These delicious goat cheese rolls are the perfect savory snack for the holiday season. They are easy to make and sure to please everyone.
- Preparation Time: 1 hour 30 minutes
- Serving Size: 20 rolls
Ingredients:
- 2 dl milk
- 1/2 can (200 g) crème fraîche
- 25 g yeast
- 1 egg
- 2 tsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- Approximately 7 1/2 dl all-purpose flour
- 3/4 dl melted butter or other fat
Filling:
- 1/2 can (200 g) crème fraîche
- 3/4 tsp mixed pepper
- 1 1/2 dl oil-packed black olives, pitted
- 1 dl shelled pistachios
- 120 g thinly sliced prosciutto
- 150 g goat cheese
- For brushing: 1 egg
Instructions:
1. Warm the milk and crème fraîche until lukewarm. Crumble in the yeast and stir to combine.
2. Add the egg, sugar, salt, and some of the flour. Mix until smooth.
3. Gradually knead in the remaining flour and fat. Continue kneading until the dough pulls away from the sides of the bowl. Cover and allow to rise in a warm place until doubled in size.
4. Roll out the dough into two rectangles measuring 40 x 25 cm.
5. Combine crème fraîche and mixed pepper. Spread over the dough rectangles. Sprinkle with sliced olives and chopped pistachios.
6. Evenly distribute the prosciutto over the dough, then crumble the goat cheese on top.
7. Roll the rectangles from the long side and cut into 2 cm thick slices.
8. Place the slices in large paper muffin cups. Allow to rise under a cloth and brush with beaten egg.
9. Bake in a preheated oven at 225°C (435°F) for 12-13 minutes or until golden brown.
