A delicious and flavorful venison-herring spread loved by Mannerheim, perfect for special occasions. Preparation Time: 2 hours
Serving Size: 4-6
Ingredients:
- 400 g ground venison or beef - 200 g herring (salted or smoked)
- 1 large onion
- 2 garlic cloves
- 200 ml cream
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp mustard
- 1 tbsp vinegar
- 1 tbsp honey
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh herbs (e.g., chives or parsley) for garnish
Instructions:
1. Finely chop the onion and garlic. Sauté them in butter in a pan until soft. 2. Add the ground meat to the pan and cook until browned and fully cooked.
3. Finely chop the herring and add it to the pan. Mix well.
4. Stir in the cream, mustard, vinegar, and honey. Season with salt and pepper.
5. Let the mixture simmer on low heat for about 10-15 minutes until all the flavors meld together.
6. Serve warm, garnished with fresh herbs.
