A delicious meat pie filled with a savory ground beef and mushroom mixture, wrapped in homemade quark-butter dough.

Ingredients

- 500 g ground beef
- 200 g mushrooms (e.g., button mushrooms)
- 1 onion
- 2 garlic cloves
- 2 tbsp oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tbsp dried thyme
- 100 ml cream
- 250 g quark
- 125 g butter
- 300 g all-purpose flour
- 1 egg (for brushing)

Instructions

1. Peel and finely chop the onion and garlic cloves. Chop the mushrooms.
2. Heat oil in a pan and sauté the onion and garlic for a few minutes.
3. Add the ground beef to the pan and brown it. Add the mushrooms and season with salt, pepper, and thyme. Cook until the mushrooms are soft.
4. Stir in the cream and mix well. Allow the filling to cool.
5. Prepare the dough by mixing quark and softened butter in a bowl. Add the flour and knead until smooth.
6. Roll out the dough into a thin sheet and cut out round pieces.
7. Place the dough pieces on a baking tray. Add filling to each piece and fold the edges to seal.
8. Brush the pies with beaten egg.
9. Bake at 200°C (400°F) for about 25-30 minutes until the pies are golden brown.
