Ingredients:

- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2/3 cup milk
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 vanilla bean
- 3 egg yolks

Instructions:

1. Start by splitting the vanilla bean in half and scraping out the seeds.
2. In a saucepan, heat the cream, milk, and sugar together. Add the vanilla bean seeds and the pod to the mixture. Heat until the sugar dissolves.
3. In a bowl, lightly whisk the egg yolks. Gradually add the hot milk mixture to the yolks while stirring continuously.
4. Pour the mixture back into the saucepan and heat on low until it thickens slightly. Do not let it boil.
5. Remove the saucepan from the heat and discard the vanilla pod. Allow the mixture to cool to room temperature.
6. Pour the cooled mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions.
7. If you do not have an ice cream maker, pour the mixture into a freezer-safe container and stir every 30 minutes until fully frozen.
