Aropupun Meat Pie
recipe
A delicious meat pie that combines rice porridge and ground beef into a flavorful filling. Preparation Time: 1 hour
Serving Size: 4 servings
Ingredients:
- 2-3 dl rice porridge (e.g. made from Nalle rice flakes) - approximately 5 dl all-purpose flour
- 100 g fat (butter/margarine) for greasing
- 1 egg
- 1 large onion
- salt, black pepper, white pepper, paprika powder to taste
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1-2 boiled eggs
- 200 g ground beef
- a splash of milk if needed
- ½ dl water/soda/milk/cream
Instructions:
1. Prepare rice porridge according to package instructions and let it cool. 2. Peel and finely chop the onion. Sauté the onion in fat in a pan until soft.
3. Add the ground beef to the pan and cook until browned. Season with salt, black pepper, white pepper, and paprika powder.
4. In a large bowl, combine the cooled rice porridge, sautéed onion, and ground beef. Add the chopped boiled eggs and mix well. If needed, add a splash of milk to make the mixture moister.
5. In a separate bowl, mix the all-purpose flour and baking powder. Add the fat and rub together until crumbly.
6. Add the water/soda/milk/cream and knead the dough until smooth.
7. Divide the dough into two parts and roll both parts into thin sheets.
8. Spread the filling on one dough sheet and cover it with the other sheet. Make sure the edges are well sealed.
9. Brush the top of the pie with egg and make a few decorative slits.
10. Bake at 200°C (392°F) for about 30-40 minutes or until the pie is golden brown.
