A delightful blend of Finnish and Italian flavors, featuring Parma ham and cheeses that elevate the traditional meat pie. Preparation time: 1 hour
Serving size: 6 servings
Ingredients:
- 400 g ground beef- 1 dl rice
- 1 onion
- 2 garlic cloves
- 100 g Parma ham
- 200 g mozzarella cheese
- 50 g Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg
- 2 dl cream
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp oregano
- 1 roll of ready-made pie crust
Instructions:
1. Peel and finely chop the onion and garlic. Sauté them in oil in a pan until softened.2. Add the ground beef to the pan and cook until browned. Season with salt, pepper, and oregano.
3. Cook the rice according to the package instructions and mix it into the cooked beef mixture.
4. Cut the Parma ham into small pieces and stir it into the meat mixture.
5. Crack the egg into the mixture and add the cream. Mix well.
6. Roll out the pie crust on a baking sheet and pour the filling evenly over the crust.
7. Slice the mozzarella and arrange it on top of the filling. Grate Parmesan cheese over the top.
8. Bake at 200°C (392°F) for about 30-35 minutes or until the top is beautifully golden brown.
9. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
