Ingredients:
- ½ packet frozen spinach
- 2.5 dl durum wheat flour
- Plenty of water
- 5 whole black peppercorns, crushed
- 2 eggs
- 2 tablespoons oil
- Leftover filling (optional)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon paprika powder
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 packet American bacon
- 30 g butter (or more, if desired)
Instructions:
1. Prepare the dough by mixing durum wheat flour, eggs, oil, salt, and water in a bowl. Knead the dough until smooth and elastic.
2. Cover the dough with a cloth and let it rest for about 20 minutes.
3. In a pan, sauté minced garlic and bacon until the bacon is crispy. Add the frozen spinach and spices (black pepper, paprika, bay leaf) and cook for a few more minutes. Allow the filling to cool.
4. Roll the dough out into a thin sheet and cut out circles (using a glass or cookie cutter).
5. Place a tablespoon of filling on each circle and fold the dough over to form a half-moon shape, sealing the edges.
6. Boil the pelmeni in salted water until they float to the surface (about 5-7 minutes).
7. Remove the pelmeni from the water and sauté them in butter in a pan until golden brown.
8. Serve hot with your choice of side dish.
