Delicious Spanish pastries with a chocolate twist, perfect for dessert or a snack. Preparation Time: 30 minutes
Serving Size: 4-6 servings
Ingredients:
- 2 dl water - 100 g butter
- 1 dl sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla sugar
- 1 dl all-purpose flour
- 3 eggs
- 100 g dark chocolate (melted)
- 1 dl sugar (for dusting)
- 1 tsp cinnamon (for dusting)
Instructions:
1. In a saucepan, bring water, butter, sugar, and vanilla sugar to a boil. 2. Add the all-purpose flour and stir vigorously until the dough pulls away from the sides of the pan.
3. Remove the saucepan from heat and let the dough cool slightly.
4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
5. Stir in the melted chocolate until smooth.
6. Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a star nozzle.
7. Heat oil in a deep pot to about 180°C (350°F).
8. Pipe the dough into the hot oil in your desired lengths and fry until golden brown.
9. Remove churros and drain on paper towels; allow to cool slightly.
10. In a bowl, mix sugar and cinnamon, then roll the churros in the mixture before serving.
