Ingredients:
- 4 egg whites
- 250 g sugar
- 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon vanilla sugar
- A pinch of salt
- Chocolate shavings for decoration (optional)
Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven to 100°C (212°F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
2. Whip the egg whites with a pinch of salt until stiff peaks form.
3. Gradually add the sugar while continuing to whip until the mixture is glossy and firm.
4. In a separate bowl, mix together the cocoa powder, cinnamon, and vanilla sugar. Gently fold this mixture into the meringue.
5. Pipe or spoon the meringue mixture onto the prepared baking paper in your desired size.
6. Bake in the oven for about 1.5 to 2 hours, until the meringues are dry and crisp.
7. Allow the meringues to cool completely before serving. Decorate with chocolate shavings if desired.
