A Vietnamese rice noodle soup with flavorful beef. This delicious and aromatic soup takes you on a culinary journey through Asia.

Ingredients:
- 400 g beef (e.g., brisket or shank)
- 200 g rice noodles
- 1 liter beef broth
- 1 onion
- 2-3 cloves garlic
- 1 star anise
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 3-4 cm piece of ginger
- 2 tablespoons fish sauce
- Salt to taste
- Fresh herbs (e.g., cilantro, mint)
- Lime, sliced
- Fresh chili, sliced (optional)
- Bean sprouts
Instructions:
1. In a pot, boil the beef broth and add the beef. Simmer on low heat for about 30 minutes.
2. Add the peeled and sliced onion, garlic, ginger, star anise, and cinnamon stick to the pot. Continue cooking for another 30 minutes until the meat is tender.
3. Remove the meat from the pot and let it cool for a moment. Strain the broth and discard the spices.
4. Cook the rice noodles according to the package instructions and drain.
5. Slice the beef thinly and place it on a serving plate.
6. Pour the hot broth over the noodles and add the sliced fresh herbs, lime, and bean sprouts.
7. Serve immediately and enjoy!
