A delicious Hungarian-style sauerkraut stew with sausage and peppers. Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Cooking Time: 2-3 hours
Serving Size: 4-6 servings
Ingredients:
- 1 kg sauerkraut
- 300 g sausage (e.g., chorizo or other spicy sausage)
- 2 bell peppers (e.g., red and yellow)
- 2 onions
- 3 garlic cloves
- 1 tsp paprika powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 2 dl water
- 2 tbsp oil
Instructions:
1. In a large pot, sauté the chopped onions and garlic in oil until softened.
2. Add the diced bell peppers and continue to sauté for a few minutes.
3. Slice the sausage and add it to the pot. Cook until the sausage is slightly browned.
4. Stir in the sauerkraut, paprika powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
5. Pour in the water and combine all the ingredients.
6. Cover the pot with a lid and place it in the oven at 150°C (300°F) for about 2-3 hours.
7. Enjoy warm after a day outdoors!
