Kaalipata with Minced Meat and Rice

A hearty and comforting dish featuring tender cabbage, ground meat, and rice, perfect for a family dinner. Preparation Time: 1 hour
Serving Size: 4-6 servings
Ingredients:
- 1-2 kg cabbage
- 1 large onion
- 700 g ground meat (beef, pork, or a mix)
- 1-2½ dl rice
- Salt
- Pepper
- A few cloves of garlic or garlic powder
Instructions:
1. Finely chop the onion and sauté it in a pan until translucent.
2. Add the ground meat to the pan and brown it until cooked through.
3. Shred the cabbage and add it to the pan. Cook until the cabbage softens.
4. Rinse the rice and add it to the mixture. Pour in enough water to cover all the ingredients.
5. Season with salt, pepper, and crushed garlic or garlic powder.
6. Allow the pot to simmer on low heat for about 30-40 minutes, or until the rice is cooked and the flavors meld together.
7. Serve warm.
