A delicious apple chutney that combines sweet and spicy flavors, perfect as a condiment for meats or sandwiches. Preparation Time: 50 minutes
Serving Size: Makes about 4 jars
Ingredients:
- 1 kg apples
- 200 g sugar
- 200 ml vinegar
- 1 tbsp chili powder
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 2 star anise
- 1 onion
- 2 garlic cloves
- Salt to taste
Instructions:
1. Peel and chop the apples, onion, and garlic.
2. In a pot, combine the apples, onion, garlic, sugar, and vinegar.
3. Add chili powder, cinnamon, star anise, and salt.
4. Simmer the mixture over low heat for about 30-40 minutes until the apples are soft and the chutney thickens.
5. Remove the star anise and pour the chutney into clean jars.
6. Allow to cool and store in the refrigerator.
