Serving Size: About 500 ml chutney
Ingredients:
- 1 kg apple wedges - 200 g sugar
- 150 ml vinegar (e.g., apple cider vinegar)
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 tbsp grated ginger
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 100 g dried raisins
Instructions:
1. Peel and wedge the apples, removing the seeds, and place the apple wedges in a pot. 2. Add sugar, vinegar, chopped onion, grated ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, black pepper, and raisins to the pot.
3. Heat the mixture over medium heat until the sugar dissolves, stirring well.
4. Allow the mixture to simmer on low heat for about 30-40 minutes until the apples are soft and the chutney has thickened.
5. Pour the chutney into clean, heated jars and seal tightly.
