This delicious semi-freddo is the perfect dessert for children's birthday parties and other celebrations. It's easy to make, and the result is creamy and flavorful.Preparation Time: 15 minutes + freezing
Serving Size: 6-8 servings
Ingredients:
- 1 cup heavy cream
- ½ cup milk
- 3 egg yolks
- ½ cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- (optional) 100 g chocolate or berries
Instructions:
1. Whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form and set aside.
2. Heat the milk in a saucepan but do not let it boil.
3. In a bowl, whisk the egg yolks and sugar until the mixture is pale and thick.
4. Gradually pour the hot milk into the egg mixture while continuously stirring.
5. Transfer the mixture back to the saucepan and heat over low heat until slightly thickened. Do not boil.
6. Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
7. Allow the mixture to cool to room temperature.
8. Gently fold the cooled mixture into the whipped cream.
9. If desired, add melted chocolate or berries.
10. Pour the mixture into a freezer-safe container and freeze for at least 4 hours or until completely frozen.
