A delicious and quick pasta dish perfect for family dinners. It's kid-friendly and full of flavor, ready in no time. Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 4 people
Ingredients:
- 300 g pasta (e.g., spaghetti or fusilli)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, crushed
- 1 can (400 g) crushed tomatoes
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 100 g grated cheese (e.g., mozzarella or cheddar)
- Fresh basil for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions in salted water until al dente. Drain and reserve a small amount of the pasta water.
2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add chopped onion and sauté until soft and translucent.
3. Add crushed garlic and cook for about one minute more.
4. Pour the crushed tomatoes into the skillet and add basil, salt, and black pepper. Let it simmer on low heat for about 5 minutes.
5. Mix the cooked pasta with the sauce, adding reserved pasta water as needed to keep it moist.
6. Sprinkle grated cheese on top and stir until melted.
7. Serve immediately with fresh basil on top if desired.
