A hearty and nutritious dish, perfect for winter days. This recipe is easy to make and will please the whole family.

Serving Size: 4 servings
Ingredients:
- 2 dl dried peas
- 1 liter water
- 1 carrot
- 1 onion
- 1 potato
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- (optional) smoked meatballs or bacon
Instructions:
1. Soak the peas in water for at least 4 hours or overnight.
2. Drain the peas and place them in a pot. Add 1 liter of water and the bay leaf.
3. Cook the peas on low heat for about 30 minutes.
4. Peel and chop the carrot, onion, and potato. Add them to the pot with the peas.
5. Add salt and black pepper. Cook for another 20-30 minutes until the peas and vegetables are soft.
6. Remove the bay leaf and blend the soup if desired.
7. Serve hot, optionally with extra seasonings or smoked meat.
