A spiced and aromatic tea that warms the heart and body. This recipe is my version of this delicious drink.
Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 4 cups
Ingredients:
- 4 cups water
- 2-3 teaspoons black tea (e.g., Assam)
- 1-2 teaspoons sugar (to taste)
- 1 cup milk (you can also use plant-based milk)
- 2-3 cardamom pods
- 2-3 cloves
- 1-2 cinnamon sticks
- 1-2 slices of ginger
- 1-2 black peppercorns (optional)
Instructions:
1. Boil the water in a saucepan and add the spices (cardamom, cloves, cinnamon, ginger, and black pepper). Let it simmer for about 5-7 minutes to release the flavors.
2. Add the black tea and sugar. Let it brew for another 2-3 minutes.
3. Pour in the milk and heat the mixture, but do not let it boil over.
4. Strain the tea into cups and enjoy warm.
