Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons butter - 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, crushed
- 250 ml Marsala wine
- 200 ml beef broth
- 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
Instructions:
1. Heat the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until soft and translucent. 2. Add the crushed garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
3. Pour the Marsala wine into the skillet and let it simmer for about 5 minutes until slightly reduced.
4. Add the beef broth and chopped herbs. Allow the sauce to simmer for 10 minutes until it thickens slightly.
5. Season with salt and pepper to taste. If you prefer a thicker sauce, mix the cornstarch with a small amount of water and stir it into the sauce, cooking for an additional few minutes.
6. Serve warm over steak or alongside it.
