- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, crushed
- 1 cup Marsala wine
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening)

Instructions:

1. Melt butter in a pan over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until soft and translucent.
2. Add the crushed garlic and cook for about one minute until fragrant.
3. Pour the Marsala wine into the pan and let it simmer until reduced by half.
4. Add the beef broth and soy sauce. Allow the sauce to simmer on low heat for about 10 minutes until it thickens slightly.
5. Season the sauce with chopped thyme, salt, and pepper.
6. If you prefer a thicker sauce, mix the cornstarch with a small amount of water and add it to the sauce. Let it simmer for a few more minutes.
7. Serve hot with steak.
