A delightful chocolate mousse that crowns a hearty dinner. This treat is perfect for the festive table during Christmas or Easter as well as for long dinners before coffee and cake. Preparation Time: 30 minutes + chilling
Serving Size: 4-6
Ingredients:
- 200 g dark chocolate
- 3 eggs
- 50 g sugar
- 300 ml heavy cream
- 1 tsp vanilla sugar
- A pinch of salt
Instructions:
1. Melt the dark chocolate in a heatproof bowl over simmering water or in the microwave. Allow it to cool slightly.
2. Separate the egg yolks from the whites. Whisk the yolks and sugar together until light and fluffy.
3. Stir the melted chocolate into the egg yolk mixture and mix well.
4. In a separate bowl, whisk the egg whites with a pinch of salt until stiff peaks form.
5. Gently fold the egg white mixture into the chocolate mixture.
6. In another bowl, whip the heavy cream with vanilla sugar until soft peaks form.
7. Carefully fold the whipped cream into the chocolate mixture.
8. Spoon the mousse into serving dishes and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until set.
9. Serve as is or garnish with berries or whipped cream.
