A refreshing mandarin-flavored beverage that is perfect for celebrations and summer days. This easy-to-make drink offers a delicious alternative to traditional sima. Preparation Time: 24 hours
Serving Size: Approximately 8 liters
Ingredients:
- 8 liters of water
- 2.5 dl brown sugar
- 8.5 dl white sugar
- 1/4 tsp yeast
- 2 mandarins
- 1 lemon
- Raisins (to taste)
Instructions:
1. Boil the water in a large pot and let it cool slightly.
2. Add the brown sugar and white sugar to the water, stirring until fully dissolved.
3. Mix in the yeast and stir well.
4. Squeeze the juice from the mandarins and lemon into the mixture. You can also slice the mandarins and lemon and add them whole for extra flavor.
5. Allow the mixture to cool to room temperature, then pour it into a clean container.
6. Add raisins to the mixture. The raisins will rise to the top when the sima is ready.
7. Cover the container with a cloth and let the sima ferment at room temperature for about 24 hours.
8. Bottle the sima in clean bottles and store it in the refrigerator.
