A delicious and nutritious dish that is easy to prepare. This traditional Finnish meal is perfect for a weekday dinner. Preparation Time: 1 hour
Serving Size: 4-6 servings
Ingredients:
- 400 g liver (beef or pork)
- 2 dl rice
- 1 onion
- 4 dl beef broth
- 2 dl cream
- 2 eggs
- 1 tbsp syrup
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp thyme
- Butter (for frying)
Instructions:
1. Cook the rice according to package instructions and set aside to cool.
2. Peel and finely chop the onion. Sauté the onion in butter in a pan until soft.
3. Add the chopped liver to the pan and cook until done.
4. In a bowl, mix the cooked ingredients with the cooled rice, beef broth, cream, eggs, syrup, and spices.
5. Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish.
6. Bake in a preheated oven at 175°C (350°F) for about 45 minutes, until the top is beautifully golden brown.
7. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
