A tasty ham and bell pepper pasta sauce that's quick and easy to prepare, perfect for a weeknight dinner.

Serving Size: 4 servings

Ingredients:

- 300 g pasta (e.g., penne or fusilli)
- 200 g ham, diced
- 1 red bell pepper, diced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 400 g crushed tomatoes
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions in salted water. Drain the pasta and reserve a bit of the cooking water.
2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic, and sauté for about 3-4 minutes until softened.
3. Add the ham and bell pepper to the skillet. Cook for about 5 minutes until the bell pepper is tender.
4. Pour the crushed tomatoes into the skillet and stir in the oregano. Season with salt and pepper. Let the sauce simmer on low heat for about 10 minutes.
5. Mix the cooked pasta into the sauce. If the sauce is too thick, add a little reserved cooking water as needed.
6. Serve warm, garnished with fresh basil if desired.
