A delicious and tall apple pie that will take your taste buds on a journey. The rich filling combines sweet apples, cinnamon, and lemon, served with whipped cream.
Preparation Time: 1.5 hours
Serving Size: 12-14 servings
Ingredients:
- 3 tsp vanilla sugar
- 5 dl heavy cream
- 10 dl all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp water
- 4 eggs
- 300 g butter
- 2 kg tart red apples
- Cinnamon (to taste)
- Sugar (to taste)
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 500 g cottage cheese
- 3 dl sugar
Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven to 175 degrees Celsius (350 degrees Fahrenheit).
2. Prepare the dough: Melt the butter and mix it with sugar, vanilla sugar, and eggs. Add the flour and water, and stir until smooth.
3. Roll out the dough and line two high pie dishes with it.
4. Prepare the apples: Remove the cores and chop the apples into small pieces, leaving the skin on. Mix the apples with cinnamon, lemon juice, and sugar.
5. Spread the apple mixture on top of the dough.
6. In a bowl, mix the cottage cheese, heavy cream, and the remaining eggs. Pour the mixture over the apples.
7. Bake in the oven for about 45-60 minutes, until the top is beautifully golden brown.
8. Allow to cool before serving. Serve with whipped cream.
