Ingredients
- 5 eggs - 3½ cups sugar
- 200 g margarine (or butter)
- 5 cups all-purpose flour or gluten-free flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 4-5 apples
- 2 cups oatmeal
- 1 cup sugar (for oatmeal topping)
- 1 tsp cinnamon (for oatmeal topping)
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F). 2. In a bowl, whisk the eggs and sugar together until the mixture is light and fluffy.
3. Melt the margarine and mix it into the egg mixture.
4. Combine the flour and baking powder, and gradually add it to the egg mixture.
5. Pour the batter into a greased pie dish.
6. Peel and slice the apples, and arrange them evenly on top of the batter.
7. In another bowl, mix the oatmeal, sugar, and cinnamon together.
8. Sprinkle the oatmeal mixture over the apple slices.
9. Bake in the oven for about 40-50 minutes or until the pie is golden brown and cooked through.
10. Allow to cool before serving.
