A delicious oat bread perfect for breakfast or as a snack. Easy to make and incredibly tasty! Preparation Time: 2 hours (including rising time)
Serving Size: 1 loaf
Ingredients:
- 2 ½ dl rolled oats - 2 ½ dl water
- 1 ½ dl milk
- 2 tbsp honey
- 2 tbsp butter (melted)
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 packet dry yeast (about 11 g)
- 6-7 dl all-purpose flour
Instructions:
1. Heat the water and milk in a saucepan until warm, but not hot. 2. Add the rolled oats to the warm mixture and stir well. Let it cool to room temperature.
3. Stir in the honey, melted butter, salt, and dry yeast into the oat mixture until smooth.
4. Gradually add the all-purpose flour until the dough is soft but not sticky.
5. Knead the dough lightly on a floured surface for about 5-10 minutes.
6. Shape the dough into a ball and place it in a greased bowl. Cover with a cloth and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
7. Once risen, knead the dough lightly and shape it into a loaf. Place it in a loaf pan.
8. Cover the loaf with a cloth and let it rise again for about 30 minutes.
9. Preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F).
10. Bake the bread for about 30-35 minutes until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
11. Allow the bread to cool on a wire rack before slicing.
