Serving Size: 8 slices
Ingredients:
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 5-6 tablespoons cold water
- 150 g cold butter
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 4-5 apples, peeled and sliced
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/4 cup caramel sauce
Instructions:
1. Prepare the dough by mixing the flour and cold butter in a bowl until it resembles coarse crumbs.
2. Gradually add cold water and mix until the dough is smooth. Shape the dough into a ball, wrap it in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for about 30 minutes.
3. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
4. Roll out the dough and spread it into a pie dish, pressing it evenly into the bottom. Prick the bottom with a fork.
5. In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice.
6. Spread the apple mixture evenly over the dough and drizzle the caramel sauce on top.
7. Bake in the oven for about 45-50 minutes, or until the apples are tender and the crust is golden brown.
8. Allow to cool before serving. Enjoy the pie with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream!
