A hearty and nutritious soup made with yellow lentils and rice, perfect for a comforting meal.

Ingredients:
- ½ cup yellow lentils
- ½ cup rice
- 4 cups water
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
- Oil for sautéing
- 1 onion
Instructions:
1. Rinse the yellow lentils and rice thoroughly under cold water.
2. Peel and chop the onion.
3. Heat oil in a pot and add the chopped onion. Sauté the onion until it is soft and translucent.
4. Add the rinsed lentils and rice to the pot with the onion. Mix well.
5. Pour in the water and add salt and black pepper to taste.
6. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and let the soup simmer on low heat for about 25-30 minutes, until the lentils and rice are cooked.
7. Taste and adjust the salt and pepper if needed.
8. Serve warm.
