Creamy Mushroom Pasta

Ingredients:
- 250 g pasta (e.g., spaghetti or penne)
- 200 g mushrooms
- 2 garlic cloves
- 100 ml cream
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 50 g Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
1. Cook the pasta according to the package instructions in salted water. Drain and reserve a little pasta water.
2. Chop the mushrooms and garlic.
3. Heat the olive oil in a frying pan and add the chopped mushrooms. Sauté until the mushrooms are soft.
4. Add the crushed garlic to the pan and sauté for another minute.
5. Pour the cream into the pan and stir. Let it simmer on low heat for a few minutes.
6. Add the cooked pasta to the pan and mix well. If the pasta is too dry, add a little reserved pasta water.
7. Grate the Parmesan cheese over the pasta and season with salt and pepper.
8. Serve immediately, garnished with fresh basil if desired.
