A delicious and hearty dish with layers of flavor, perfect for sharing. Best enjoyed after resting for a moment after baking. Preparation Time: 1 hour 30 minutes
Serving Size: 6-8 servings
Ingredients:
- 9-12 lasagna sheets - 400 g ground beef (or pork-beef mix)
- 1 onion
- 2 garlic cloves
- 400 g crushed tomatoes
- 200 ml cream
- 200 g grated cheese (e.g., mozzarella or cheddar)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon dried oregano
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Fresh basil (optional)
Instructions:
1. Heat the olive oil in a skillet and add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté until the onion is soft. 2. Add the ground meat and cook until browned and fully cooked.
3. Stir in the crushed tomatoes, cream, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix well and let simmer on low heat for about 10 minutes.
4. Cook the lasagna sheets according to package instructions and drain.
5. Grease a baking dish and place a layer of lasagna sheets at the bottom. Add a portion of the meat mixture and sprinkle with cheese.
6. Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with a layer of cheese on top.
7. Bake the lasagne in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for about 30-40 minutes, until the top is golden brown.
8. Remove from the oven and let it rest for about 15-20 minutes before serving.
